Myself and a group of 8 friends (aged 30 to 55) attended the concert in the Villa Marina on Wednesday 24th August.
We all had the most wonderful evening. Although I am very familiar with American Pie( but then who isn’t?) I was not very familiar with Don’s music other then listening to the Very best of for a few weeks befoe the concert.
The concert started with a rush and I was a little concerned that Don would whizz through his set and leave, very like Van Morrission did when he appearded in the Isle of Man a few years ago.
Don Maclean however proved me very wrong. He appeared to warm to us and entertained us richly with a fabulous variety of pieces performed to a very high standard and I genuinely flet like he was singing them for me!
I was touched by a number of the pieces, which I now unfortunatly cannot remember specifically in particular the Shakespear sonnet. The last track, sang as a solo, from his new album was simply brilliant.
It was a superb concert, thank you so much for performing in the Isle of Man.
