    Hi Don,
I saw you play at the Palms at Crown in Melbourne and it was a brilliant concert! I’m only 24 and find it difficult to appreciate music that is older than I am but I’ve always loved your music, especially Vincent. Also thanks for signing my ticket! I must have been the only fan lining up who had the nerve not to give you some merchandise to sign but i alrady have two of your albums at home!
Thanks again for the beautiful concert

  3. went to the tuesday night concert at Crown. Had a top night. american pie has been a bit of an anthem song for my wife and i and our business so it was v special to have joined in such a rousing rendition. Don’s skill of rolling from song to song was a true reflection of his professionalism and talent.

woke up this morning with the american pie chorus still going around in my head. thanks Don for a great memory.

  4. What a sensational concert at the Palms. If I could get a ticket I’d go again.
Truly inspiring, entertaining, uplifting and a marvellous experience seeing and hearing a true legend obviously still in his prime. Pure talent!! As for the quality of his accompanying musicians- all of them remarkably talented with incredibly subtle musical genius.

  5. i first saw don mclean in concert when i was 16yo at dallas brook hall, i’m now 52yo. my mum drove me and a male friend to the concert. i knew all the songs last night word to word except the new ones and his beautiful voice has not changed. i loved his verse in his songs i grew up singing them many a time. thanks you for your beautiful music.
    thanks and enjoy aussie

  6. I first saw Mr Mclean 35 years ago at the Palais St Kilda and have loved him ever since. Seeing him last night again was an experience I shall not forget. The Palms at Crown is the best of venues, for it is small and comfortable … The Concert brought to us the very heart and best of America – an authentic man, more impassioned now than ever. He is bold, yet with humour, straight talking and strong singing … the song Vincent brought such an intensity to the audience, it was as if we were hearing the words for the first time, which is strange because we all know it so well. I am so glad that he came, and feel so privileged to have seen him.

  7. Just saw it, was great! It was my Dad’s birthday present so I wasn’t really the excited one but nevertheless they put on a great show. The blues stuff sounded very cool. My only gripe was the lighting…winging it didn’t do them any justice, they deserved better.
