Fantastic night it was so refreshing to see a good support act and then followed by a great show from Don. The range of songs was great and what was particularly nice was you could hear every word clearly and enjoy the songs. Great rendition of American Pie with the audience on their feet and then in the encore you could hear a pin drop during his solo acoustic rendition of Vincent. Best concert we have seen in years. Clive.

  2. Just saw Don in Dublin’s Vicar St. I am a bit younger than him but first time I ever saw him live. What an amazing performance, what a voice!. And his rendition of American Pie certainly touched something deep inside and I will remember it for the rest of my life.

  3. Dear Don,

I was at the Edinburgh Concert at the Usher Hall on Wednesday and can’t tell you what a thrill it was to see you again. I came with my friend Bill, he and I are fellow musicians and he used to sing your songs at gigs in the 70’s 80’s & 90’s until ill health meant he could no longer perform. We were celebrating 47 yrs of friendship at the Gig on Wednesday and he was just so thrilled to see you live.

I first saw you in the late 70’s at the same venue when I was on First Aid Duty. After the show, I came to get your autograph and you offered to ‘faint’ for me! Sadly, I lost your autograph (and a few others) when one of my boxes got lost during a house move. But I guess these things happen.

Anyway, just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the show and how much joy you brought to us.

    Thank you,
    Pam & Bill

  4. We saw Don in Birmingham last night. Best concert we have seen in years, nice to hear the music without compromising the vocals. Would definitely come to see such a great entertainer again.

  5. So good to see wonderful Don McLean live in concert at the Wales Millennium Centre – the evening was so hugely enjoyable and endlessly impressive – sheer polish and ease. And his exceptional musicians were of the toppest notch! An unforgettable and rare treat!

  6. Manchester……another memorable evening in the company of Don his exceptional musicians, you could see how much him and the band enjoyed it and shared that with his audience, after a good 40 years of llistening and watching this man on stage, the accolades will never stop coming…..thank you Don.

  7. Cardiff concert was the best I’ve ever attended, and I’ve been privileged to see many times. Don and the band were amazing! Thank you all for a fantastic night of music, singing and humour.

  8. I have been a fan of Don McLean for 40 years and seem him many times in concert. I went to see him last night in my home town of Bexhill-on-Sea. An excellent concert, lasting just over two hours, that had so many different types of music! The audience were very appreciative of Don, who clearly was really enjoying himself, too. At his concerts, I often hear a real gem of a song that he hasn’t recorded, and I’ve never heard him sing before. Last night, it was Sinatra’s “Why Try to Change Me Now?”
